It's a nice morning to wake up feeling well.

About 11pm last night, the 22-hour chemo bag was finally hooked up and running. We've had a terrible time with this new port I had put in to replace the old one. Nurses were having more and more trouble "accessing" it. I'd had the old one for nearly 7 years so I decided to get it replaced. This may have been a mistake. 

We tried to watch a movie before and after, but sweet Mason and I (our youngest who spent the night here with me) couldn't stay awake for it. We got to sleep pretty soundly until 4:00 vitals. And we were really startled awake at 7am by PA Brenden, who just "wanted to introduce himself." 

We are both thankful for the solid patches. I was worried last night because they gave me 120mg of Prednisone pretty late, which can make sleep fitful or impossible. The other handfuls of drugs they are giving me counteracted that and I slept great in between the medical visits. 

I put the word, "Wellness" on the bag. It all started with a quote running through my mind these last couple days from Julien of Norwich (which I love), "All shall be well, and all shall be well. All manner of thing shall be well." It dawned on me at some point that she is speaking of the Kingdom of God, which I rely on. But "Wellness" has another meaning that I can be applying here - the intentionally pursuit and maintenance of health." I'll take it, Lord. All shall be well in me!

As I've been lookin for the best words to write on my bags - an intention of sorts - WELLNESS became perfect. The spiritual as well as physical meaning. 

I'm looking for ideas for the next 4 bags. They will each run for 22 hours and they have warned me I will feel worse and worse until I go home and will have 4-5 more bad days. Wanna help me? 

Text me ideas if they come to you. I'll do word studies and pick (or come up with) what fits best.

BTW - I have no idea who reads these BLOGs. It's quite a mystery to me. But it does give me a place to put details of my thoughts, mostly. And it has helped me go back to finds names and dates, etc... A few people have told me the info at one point or another has been helpful to them. Whatever the purpose... I just put it out there and forget about it. God bless and keep you and thank you for caring enough to read it.

Howdy. I so hope your 2025 is starting off well. We had such a wonderful holiday season with an exceptionally fun time celebrating my 60th birthday, the end of 2024 filled my emotional cup in a very special way. It's been nice having these unexpected free days since going into the hospital was postponed to get organized a bit, meet with friends from my Al-anon group, see our small group from church, go to church which I love, and just regroup after such a busy time.  I got another call today from the nurse transplant coordinator. It turns out donor #2, from Poland, is not eligible to donate for some reason. The nurse explained that donor #1, from Germany,  was re-contacted - she had told the doctors she could not donate for at least 2 weeks later than what they wanted. Because there is some danger in waiting (if the lymphoma comes back, I'd have to do chemo again before transplant), they had gone on to #2. Missed 2 days of blog - Painful shoulder issue

 Sorry to have missed 2 days! I have been making the mistake of waiting til the evening to write. I can not explain the sensation of almost panic when I am doing anything - brushing my teeth, for example. I have to lay down.  We went in for the three times a week clinic visit yesterday. The NP suggested I take Zophran scheduled, every 8 hours and Zyprexa at night to help with the nausea. I'm committed to that until we go back tomorrow. I have probably not taken enough of these meds on top of the others to really see them work.  I called the BMT line of APPs (Advanced Patient Providers) last night. My left shoulder hurt more and more and I wasn't sure about taking Tylenol or Advil (they don't want you to mask fever which is very serious right now), or they gave me Oxycontin, which I didn't know if it is safe with Zyprexa. They made sure it did't sound like a heart attack, told me to take the prescribed amounts of all 3 and to go to the ER and call them if that didn...

Another day of not feeling well after chemo - worse feeling but no vomiting today.

 Hey Crew.  It was a pretty uneventful day. After what very well could be (is) MY LAST CHEMO today, I am weak and kinda miserable.  Thank you, my support system. I have whole walls dedicated to cards from Susie, Sheila, and Judy. Today I got yet another goodie box from Judy. Thank you, my friend. I have to say the best moment of the day was when I got the letter from my granddaughter, Eden. I was afraid it got lost in the mail. So much love!  My sweet hubby has decided, with the info we have, for him to be at the gym and stuff so he ran 30 floors of stairs. I'm telling you. I got a good one! Sponge bath because I couldn't face the shower. They are nice but the water pressure is so so low and it doesn't get hot enough. The do these medicated wipes that they heat which wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.  I'm going to sign off with a couple of pics.
