Just a little update

Howdy.

I hope you and yours are well and your Thanksgiving was fantastic. Ours was - we had all our kids and grandkids together for the first time in a year, at it was all I hoped it would be. There is just nothing like being with the complete set.

I am going back to work today and just realized that could prompt some to wonder what's going on. Whenever someone asks me how I'm doing, I have the hardest time answering. I wish I were one of those people who could say something very deep and meaningful like, "God is healing me day by day." Things like that do not feel genuine to me, although I am counting on just that.

Things are pretty status quo, although I am always keenly aware when a lymph node is swollen and/or I feel like the nodes in my groin are starting to hurt. My diet hasn't been perfect, I sometimes fail to get all the supplements in, I don't do enough saunas and salt baths and exercise. I sometimes experience a fatigue that is debilitating and I can have shortness of breath, but have a really hard time going to bed.

I am very grateful that I have not been more sick and I have not been in any pain. I have now met people who didn't have a choice but to jump into conventional treatment right away and they have had a much tougher time than me.

I need an MRI before going back to the T cell specialist in Denver the beginning of Jan. On the other hand, I wonder why I should go back to him when the 5+1 drug chemo he is pushing is out of the question unless absolutely necessary (if the cancer took off).

I am considering going to Dr. Keith Block in Chicago - he's a well known integrative oncologist. And - he'd be covered by insurance! I suspect, after reading his book, that he may point me toward conventional treatment with lots of integrative support. And - a plant based diet, of course.

I'd sure love to actually get into remission.

Anyhow, that isn't a very exciting or creative update. I'm excited to go to work today. How fortunate I have been to love what I do and love the people with whom I work.

Merry Christmas and/or Happy Chanukah! Cathie

Ya, I'm starting cytotoxic chemo tomorrow.

The good and the bad - accepting both.
