Free videos online now...

If you're interested in learning more along with me, there is a series of videos offered free over the next few weeks called Square One. I don't use everything Chris Wark talks about but he has put a lot of things together that I wish I had known from the beginning and I really like his style. Signing up will get you on a mailing list but you can opt off that list when the videos are done. Check it out before it goes offline and then you have to pay at https://squareone.chrisbeatcancer.com/module1.

One of my doctors likes to tell me that her patients with lymphoma do well under 2 conditions:

1) Stay on track with a very healthy diet - feeding healthy cells with good food as close to nature makes it and not feeding the cancer cells with sugar and weakening my body with toxins. I'm working on making sure I fill up on vegetables and fruits (smoothy for breakfast, juicing, salads, wheat grass shots). I just can't see myself going vegan or even vegetarian, but I can be conscious about choosing clean meats, limiting processed foods without depriving myself of healthy gluten free foods (although when I eat carbs like breads, it seems to ignite a kind of appetite that makes it hard to stay on track). This all takes much more time and planning than I like - but I am learning that this is really part of a healthy life rhythm. Preparing food and healthy eating is kind of how we are designed and being too busy to do so is...too busy.

2) Taking care of psychological/emotional health. So...I am seeing a Christian counselor at the center, spending more time in constant prayer and in Scripture "renewing my mind," I am going to a chiropractor who does energy healing, and I am currently undergoing a process called Brain Wave Optimization. This in intriguing and I think I am seeing some dramatic results as my brain is given the tools to recover from traumas and work in better balance.

I effect, I am trusting that God is showing me, one step at a time, what I need to do to be emotionally and psychologically healthy - with mechanisms in place to help me heal and release anything that negatively impacts my mind/soul, spirit, and body.

I am beginning to look at how what we think and feel which actually turns on or off genes in our bodies.

This is a life-long process and is very different from what I used to think of cancer - "Deal with it and move on." God wanted me to clean up my act in many ways and has used this to get my attention and help me change. It's as if I was strapped into an increasingly out of control merry-go-round and didn't know how to slow it down to make it enjoyable - or how to get off. He has screeched it to a halt and won't let me turn it back on until I know how to work the machine properly. I'm learning.
