Update 4/6/17

Hi All, 

At first I thought I should not share this information until we know more - to avoid confusion. But, I woke up this morning thinking it is unfair to those who are concerned not to share some potentially amazing news. 

The oncologist called yesterday and told me to hold off on the bone marrow biopsy scheduled for this morning (and I didn't argue - this test was causing me much anxiety). 

He got the pathology report from the biopsies taken through surgery last week and it said everything is normal. 
We have no idea if there was a false positive with the first round of testing or if this is a false negative. So, we are waiting. 

Or, is this an answer to so many prayers that I have been actually able to feel???? 

Thank you for keeping up the prayers and I hope to be sharing good news soon!!! 

If I could ask a little favor; Please stop and pray for my dear friend, Emily, whose aunt and grandmother were killed in a fire yesterday in Mission Hills. She has asked for prayer for her dad, especially. Thank you! Cath

Howdy. I so hope your 2025 is starting off well. We had such a wonderful holiday season with an exceptionally fun time celebrating my 60th birthday, the end of 2024 filled my emotional cup in a very special way. It's been nice having these unexpected free days since going into the hospital was postponed to get organized a bit, meet with friends from my Al-anon group, see our small group from church, go to church which I love, and just regroup after such a busy time.  I got another call today from the nurse transplant coordinator. It turns out donor #2, from Poland, is not eligible to donate for some reason. The nurse explained that donor #1, from Germany,  was re-contacted - she had told the doctors she could not donate for at least 2 weeks later than what they wanted. Because there is some danger in waiting (if the lymphoma comes back, I'd have to do chemo again before transplant), they had gone on to #2. The first one is now able to donate 1/30 so I will now go into the hosp...

Missed 2 days of blog - Painful shoulder issue

 Sorry to have missed 2 days! I have been making the mistake of waiting til the evening to write. I can not explain the sensation of almost panic when I am doing anything - brushing my teeth, for example. I have to lay down.  We went in for the three times a week clinic visit yesterday. The NP suggested I take Zophran scheduled, every 8 hours and Zyprexa at night to help with the nausea. I'm committed to that until we go back tomorrow. I have probably not taken enough of these meds on top of the others to really see them work.  I called the BMT line of APPs (Advanced Patient Providers) last night. My left shoulder hurt more and more and I wasn't sure about taking Tylenol or Advil (they don't want you to mask fever which is very serious right now), or they gave me Oxycontin, which I didn't know if it is safe with Zyprexa. They made sure it did't sound like a heart attack, told me to take the prescribed amounts of all 3 and to go to the ER and call them if that didn...

Extreme Fatigue

 Sorry. It's hard for me to do this right now. I heard a guy yesterday saying his family just doesn't understand that he can't get up to find the remote or hold his iPad to watch a movie. I'm fortunate, I have very understanding people taking care of me.  All is the same; I suspect I'm on a plateau for awhile.  Thanks for checking in.
